| OVERVIEW: A lightweight flywheel for your RX8 is an excellent upgrade. A lighter flywheel reduces rotating mass allowing your engine to move through the RPM's faster, and keep you in the power band. The main difference between the flywheels below is their weight. An extremely light flywheel is not ideal for street driving, while it may be great for track use.

Fidanza Aluminium Flywheel:
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheels are made from 6061 T6 billet aluminum for superior strength and weight reduction. Fidanza flywheels are CNC machined at a constant speed for precise fit and finish, and feature a replaceable 1045 high-carbon steel friction plate with AN military-grade fasteners and a hardened 1050 ring gear. You will never have to replace this flywheel as you can just swap friction plates, and reinstall. All these features make these a great lightweight flywheel at a great price.

ACT Streetlite Flywheel:
The ACT Streetlite flywheel is made from premium quality forged Chrome-Moly steel, CNC machined, and balanced. It also features an induction-hardened integral ring gear, and is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1. The Streetlite RX8 flywheel is light, but not too light, helping you get up into the powerband faster, without dramatically changing the car's driving characteristics. Counterweight Included

ACT Prolite Flywheel:
The ACT Prolite flywheel is made from premium quality forged Chrome-Moly steel, CNC machined, and balanced. It is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1. The Prolite, being lighter than the Streetlite, makes for faster revving, and significantly reduced rotating mass for even more of a perfomance increase than the Streetlite. ACT reccomends the Streetlite RX8 flywheel for street driving and drag racing and the Prolite RX8 flywheel for road racing due to the increase in harshness and choppier engagement.

SPEC Aluminium Flywheel:
SPEC aluminum flywheels are CNC machined and exceed SFI standards for high stress racing applications. The body of the flywheel is made of tempered aluminums, either 6061 T6 or 2024 T3, for ultimate strength and lightest possible weight. The 1/4 inch thick friction plate is a 1050 high carbon alloy, for incredible durability with any friction disc material, even iron. The plates are secured to the body by aerospace fasteners. The gear is also heat treated for longevity.
