JSC Speed Project Integra GSR: AEM UEGO Wideband Gauge
aem wideband 02 gauge and components The AEM UEGO Wideband is yet another great product from AEM. To really appreciate this product, you have to know the difference between a wideband 02 sensor, and a narrowband 02 sensor. The major difference is in accuracy. If you compare the two readings side by side, the narrowband is no where near accurate making it completely useless for tuning. I purchased this wideband mainly to support my AEM EMS, but the gauge its self is pretty sweet. It is a 52mm gauge that comes with different color face plates to match different schemes. I chose to keep everything black and stealthy. This install was not very difficult. The hardest part is wiring the gauge to the EMS, which turned out to
not be very hard. I chose to mount the UEGO in an Autometer bezel that fits perfectly inside my stock gauge cluster. In my opinion, this is one of the cleanest mounting solutions available. It looks like it belongs there, and is not really visible from outside the car. This is important to me because I know how easy this car is to steal, and I didn't want to draw attention with an A-Pillar pod setup. Once I pulled the stock cluster cover out of the way, I was lucky enough that I could feed the wires from the cluster to the EMS fairly easily. Now that the visual and electronic stuff is set up, all I have left is
aem wideband 02 gauge and components aem uego wideband gauge installed in a autometer pod aem uego wideband gauge gives an acurate display of your air fuel ratio
to install the new wideband sensor. My car comes stock with two 02 sensors. Since I have installed the AEM EMS, I have no need for either of them because all the air fuel readings will be coming from my new wideband directly to the EMS, and then displayed on the UEGO gauge. Before installing the new sensor, it had to be calibrated with the AEM EMS. This requires the sensor to be uninstalled in open air, so make sure this is done first. Next I removed the primary 02 sensor and disconnected the wires. In its place went the AEM wideband sensor. I just kept my secondary aem wideband 02 gauge installation
02 sensor in its place but it really has no purpose. Any time you are tuning a car, the air fuel mixture is one of the most important parameters to monitor. In my opinion there is no better setup on the market than the AEM UEGO wideband!
