JSC Speed Project GT35R STi: Whiteline Anti-Dive Kit
JSC Project 04 STi GT35R in warehouse This STi made some big power - and now it is time to focus a bit on the suspension. I was sold on the Whiteline Anti-Dive kit after watching this VW video of the kit in action. Click for Video After this installation of the Perrin GT35R turbo kit - the STi would point towards the sky under full throttle! I was fun, but a bit scary. My hopes were that the Whiteline WALK (Whileline Anti-Lift Kit) would help keep the front of the car down under boost. It solved this issue, significantly decreased nose dive under breaking, and the handling is much more responsive! The stock bushing is fluid filled, and allows for a lot of moment. I chose to install the "standard kit" which is a middle ground for performance and comfort. I have not noticed any additional noise or vibrations.
The installation process was fairly straight forward. The first step is to removed the sub frame brace. This is held down by several bolts that surprisingly were easy to get out. The use of air tools cut this process down to about 2 minutes! Once the brace is out of the way - it's time to remove the old bushings.
Stock STi Bushing Whiteline Anti-Dive Kit Whiteline Walk STi - Installation Grease Whiteline Walk STi - installed
There are 2 bolts that hold the bushing down to the body - those come out first. The next step is to remove the nut that keeps the bushing on the arm. This one is torqued down pretty hard to get ready to bust the knuckles. I found I could use leverage from a wooded mallet to pull the arm away from the body enough to get a socket on the nut. Once the nut is removed, the bushing may require some convincing from the hammer to slide off the arm. Apply grease to all metal parts on the new bushing and reverse the process! Torque specs are included. The final step is using the supplied sub frame support spacers. These keep the sub frame off the new Anti-Dive kit. This is a great install to get done over the weekend and is not difficult at all with the proper tools.
