JSC Speed Project 02 WRX: Rear Sway Bar and Endlinks
Unbolt the stock swaybar from the OEM mounts. Unbolt the endlinks from the car but still keep them attached to the stock bar- removing them from the bar is not needed unless you are not upgrading your endlinks. Remove the OEM mounts from the car- getting the passengers side mount off the car is the hardest part of the install. Install the new Perrin mounts. Now put the bushing on the sway bar and make sure to grease it with the grease provided before installing on the new mount. When bolting the bar to the mount try and line up the bar ends close to the endlinks. Now that the bar is attached install endlinks on the car first before attaching them to the bar. Attach endlinks to the rear bar using spacers on each side of the endlink- this job is much easier when the car is not in the air. Be sure to torque all bolts to the setting provided- be sure to recheck the bolts after you drive the car.

Upgrading the rear swaybar and endlinks on my 2002 WRX is one of the best modifications I have done to my car. It has been the best upgrade for the money. I replaced the factory swaybar, mounts, and endlinks with the Perrin 22mm adjustable rear swaybar kit and the Perrin rear endlinks. One of the best things about the Perrin rear swaybar is the mounts - look at the comparison between the OEM mounts and the Perrin mounts. The OEM mounts look like they are designed to fail and don't compare to the solid billet aluminum mounts included in the Perrin kit. It all starts with the mounts and I would say the Perrin kit has the best mounts on the market. I hear people actually buy this Perrin rear sway bar without the upgraded mounts- sounds very silly. I included a picture of how the Perrin bar adjusts- the three holes at the end of each bar that connect to the endlink gives the option of how stiff you want the bar set. When it comes time to connect your swaybar to your endlinks it is a good idea to set your car down. Reaching the stiffest setting with the car in the air is very difficult- the best I could do was the middle setting when the car was in the air and even that was difficult. I included two pictures to show examples of this- the angle of the endlink makes feeding a bolt through the endlink and bar very hard. Overall this install is very easy and the benefits from these upgrades are huge. I highly recommend this upgrade.
