Toyota Supra 7MGTE Turbo Cometic, HKS, & Greddy Headgaskets
Cometic Headgaskets - HKS Headgaskets - Greddy Headgaskets - ARP Head Bolts & Head Studs
HKS, Greddy, Cometic 7MGTE Headgaskets supra turbo ma70 JSC SpeedToyota's 7MGE and 7MGTE engines are notorious for blowing headgaskets due to their faulty factory gasket design and inadequate stock head bolts. Replacing the headgasket on your 7M motor and using ARP head bolts or head studs is a sure fire way to guarantee everything will stay together under boost. The headgaskets listed on this page are constructed of multi-layer steel for the ultimate seal; combined with head studs or bolts, you'll have a package that will stay sealed, even under high boost.
Sizing a 7MGTE Headgasket: In some cases, the engine will require machining due to warping on the head or block. Find out how much needs to be trimmed in thosandths of an inch, and convert it to millimeters (40 thousanths of an inch is equal to one 1mm). You need to compensate for this amount with the gasket width -- a stock gasket is 1.0mm. Convert the total amount that was trimmed from your block and head to millimeters and add it to 1mm and you'll have the gasket size you need. Try to stay as close to this number, since it is crucial in order to run the proper compression. If you don't understand this, ask your machine shop or engine builder and they should be able to provide this numner.

PLEASE NOTE: The headgasket is half the problem, in order to ensure that your Supra does not blow a headgasket again, we strongly reccomend using either ARP head studs or ARP head bolts on your 7MGTE motor.

Cometic 7MGTE Headgaskets from JSC Speed
Cometic uses stainless steel in their 7MGTE headgaskets for increased strength, it's ability to rebound, and improved corrosion resistance. The outer layers of a Cometic headgasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a veriety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. Cometic's Viton headgasket coating is heat resistant to 250 degrees celcius or 482 degrees farenheit. By design the Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Cometic headgasket promotes an even torque across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion. Please work together with your machine shop to best identify the gasket that will work best for you.

HKS 7MGTE Headgaskets from JSC Speed
HKS metal head gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of steel to ensure proper head to block sealing under the most demanding high performance conditions. In the construction of each HKS head gasket, a special metal which is extremely resistant to the severe levels of both heat and corrosion, that is attributed with high-horsepower and high-boost conditions, is used to ensure gasket integrity. Aside from the durable internal construction, all HKS head gaskets are also coated with a special fluorine rubber coating to provide the ultimate seal. HKS metal head gaskets are designed to accommodate for oversize pistons and altered compression ratios. For the 7MGTE, multiple HKS head gasket thicknesses are available to change the dynamic compression ratio according to the needs and characteristics of the various levels tuning and engine conditions. While HKS headgaskets are an excellent addition to a performance engine, they are not designed to cure sealing problems caused by head or block irregularities.

The HKS Stopper headgasket is the most effective as it consists of the maximum layers of plates possible for the best possible sealing and durability. The increased sealing capability is also due to a molded stopper ring around each combustion chamber.

The HKS Bead headgasket is a popular gasket because of its very effective sealing properties, structural design, and lower price. The raised bead structure around each combustion chamber ensures a tight seal for applications with high compression and high boost conditions.
