Alta Mini Performance presents another first for the R56 Mini Cooper S: The vent-to-atmosphere (VTA) blow off valve (BOV). Using the port for your Mini's factory 'noisemaker' (it has to be removed), the Alta R56 blow-off-valve installs into the Cooper's intercooler piping.
The R56 does not have a good boost source to tee into, so Alta has included a tap-in fitting for your Mini's intercooler piping to simplify installation. The Alta R56 BOV can be used in conjunction with your Mini's factory bypass valve, or you can cap it off with Alta's block-off plate (sold separately) for
full a full vent-to-atmosphere experience. When you release the throttle with the Alta BOV, you will be rewarded with a resounding "whoosh" of air that will let everyone know you have a turbo.

The Alta R56 BOV is available in black or red anodized finish, and includes instructions, and the necessary tap-in fittings, clamps, and vacuum lines for easy installation in your R56 Mini. You will have to remove the factory Cooper S 'Noise Generator' -- but the BOV is much better at generating noise, so it will not be missed.
