The Alta Classic intake system for the 02-06 Mini Cooper S pulls cold air from the factory air ram duct in the grille and through the vent below the windshield. The Alta Classic Mini Cooper S Intake Kit includes a new air box, foam filter, and colored silicone inlet hose. Alta's silicone hose is mirror smooth promoting a high velocity air charge, encouraging smoother air-flow. Reducing your Mini's inlet air temperatures will create a cooler, denser air charge raising HP, and torque (who doesn't want that?!). The Classic Intake kit is available with silicone hose or without (reuse stock). Add the Alta Box Top to your intake to increase performance and enhance the look under your hood. |

The Alta Silicone Inlet Hose option connects the factory airbox to the throttle body. The factory inlet hose is corrugated and ribbed on the inside. Turbulence is created and airflow is reduced, hindering throttle response and upper HP. The inner diameter of the factory hose is very small compared to the upgraded Alta Inlet Hose. The Alta inlet hose comes with the Alta Classic intake above or can be purchased alone below. If you purchase the Alta Inlet Hose alone you have the option to add the Alta heat shield and foam filter to complete your intake. |

The Alta Intake System without the Inlet Hose option uses the facotry inlet hose to connect the Alta Foam Filter to the throttle body. This kit includes the following: foam filter, airbox, hood seal, hose clampes,hardware, and instructions. The Alta Inlet Hose comes standard the Alta Classic intake as shown at the top of this page. If you purchase the Alta Intake System without the Inlet Hose you have the option to add the Alta Hose later to complete your intake.
