| While the MS3 does come equipped with a decent sized top mount intercooler, because of its orientation in the engine bay it is extremely susceptible to heatsoak, resulting in higher boost temperatures and reduced power output. Cobb Tuning has developed the perfect solution, a quality designed and tested front mount intercooler kit specifically designed for the Mazdaspeed3. While other manufacturers may simply bolt on the largest core possible, the engineers at Cobb Tuning tested dozens of core designs before selecting the perfect compromise between efficiency and boost response. The result is an ideal bar and plate intercooler with an observed pressure drop of only 0.65psi, producing virtually no noticeable difference in boost response. However, don't think that less pressure drop comes at the cost of cooling efficiency; Cobb also observed a unprecedented average temperature drop of 98° F through the very same core. The Cobb Tuning front mount intercooler kit comes with everything needed for a direct bolt-on installation. |
