| The Forced Performance Evo Green 73HTA Turbo took what FP learned developing the older, Green (a stock Evo 9 based turbocharger) and, over the course of more than a year, improved every aspect. The 73HTA uses all the bolt holes and threads exactly the same as the factory Mitsubishi product, and all the castings are OEM Mitsubishi. To keep things simple, JSC only offers the most popular version of the Green: The 73HTA with an 18psi wastegate. |

18 PSi HP Wastegate Actuator: All FP Evo Green 73HTA turbocharger come with an 18psi HP wastegate actuator. Forced Performance's HP Evo Green 73HTA wastegate actuator features a heavier spring and does not crack open until boost reaches 18psi. Applications running high boost such as race gas or methanol injection will benefit from the extra spring pressure. Using the HP actuator will result in retaining more boost higher into the RPM range compared to the stock Evo 9 wastegate actuator (11psi). The HP actuator isn't going to make much difference on pump gas cars running 18-20psi, but it isn't going to hurt anything either. Be advised that boost cannot be set BELOW 18psi when using this HP actuator, a concern for those who are not prepared to run their car at that kind of power level. |
| 80mm Flow Advancement Port: Forced Performance's custom 80mm Flow Advancement Port compressor cover helps reduce huffing and surging sounds that are often reported with larger, stock format hybrids when lugging the engine at low RPM and high boost pressure but perhaps even more useful is the way it helps feed the splitter blades of the compressor wheel resulting in increased flow. This larger inlet also increases the volume of the intake air pipe and reduces vacuum at the inlet of the turbo. Additionally the volute of the cover is now exactly tailored to the HTA wheel's aero for the best performance possible. The FP Green with 80mm Flow Advancement Port requires the FP Intake Air Pipe or a 3" coupler. The FP Intake Pipe is undercover black and designed to replace the stock intake air pipe perfectly, allowing the use of the OEM recirculating BOV and the valve cover crankcase vent. The 80mm Flow Advancement Port cover could also be used with standard 3" air intake pipes by utilizing a straight 3" coupler. |

The combination of improved compressor and turbine flow characteristics results in a very wide RPM range performance increase. Spool up is very stock like, with part throttle boost being easily achieved at low engine RPM for city driving. Absent from this turbo is any hint of compressor surge. Even 5th gear WOT pulls starting at 2krpm do not result in compressor surge. Mid range and top end performance are dramatically improved as a result of the increased airflow capacity of the compressor and turbine sections.
