OVERVIEW:A lightweight flywheel is a great addition to any car, especially turbocharged vehicles. The reduced rotating mass can get you into the higher RPM range faster; reducing turbo spool time and making for quicker ETs and general launches.
STEEL VS ALUMINIUM: There are many aluminium flywheels available for the Evo, you may want to consider the ACT Streetlite for daily drivers and street cars, as it is lighter, but not too light, making for good pedal feel and smooth clutch engagement; much less 'grabby' than its aluminium counterpart.

ACT Streetlite Steel Flywheel: |
The ACT Streetlite flywheel is made from premium quality forged Chrome-Moly steel, CNC machined, and balanced. It also features an induction-hardened integral ring gear, and is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1. This is a great flywheel for a daily driver looking to increase performance without sacrificing drivability.

ACT Prolite Steel Flywheel: |
| The ACT Prolite flywheel is made using the same premium quality, forged Chrome-Moly steel unit, that is CNC machined, and balanced. The Prolite flywheel has more material removed from the outer rim than the Streetlite to get it down to it's super-light, CEL causing 10.1 lbs. ACT's Prolite flyweel will cause a check engine light. If you are planning to drive your car on the street, in traffic, you do not want this light of a flywheel. The Prolite is a RACE ONLY flywheel. The Prolite also features an induction-hardened integral ring gear, and is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1. |

Fidanza flywheels are made from 6061 T6 billet aluminium for strength and weight reduction. Fidanza flyhweels are CNC machined at a constant speed for precise fit and finish, feature a replaceable 1045 high-carbon steel friction plate with AN miltary-grade fasteners and a hardened 1050 ring gear. These features make this a great lightweight flyhweel at a great price.

SPEC Aluminium Flywheel:

| SPEC aluminum flywheels are CNC machined and exceed SFI standards for high stress racing applications. These units are recommended for highly modified street or racing vehicles, and for mildly modified street cars that can benefit from reduced rotating mass without the loss of daily drivability. The body of the flywheel is made of tempered aluminums, either 6061 T6 or 2024 T3, for ultimate strength and lightest possible weight.

The 1/4 inch thick friction plate is a 1050 high carbon alloy, for incredible durability with any friction disc material, even iron. The plates are secured to the body by aerospace fasteners. The ring gears are pressed on and secured with grade 10 fasteners. They gear is also heat treated for longevity.
