| On Saturday June 13th 2009 JSC Speed opened its doors to the public with the first annual JSC Speed BBQ, Car Show, Hot Dog Eating Contest and Dyno Pull Competition. The event was extremely well received, attracting over 140 cars and close to 250 performance enthusiasts from all over the tri-state region for a chance to show of their cars and have some summer fun JSC style. Well over $2,000 in cash, trophies and prizes were awarded sponsored by great manufacturers like AEM, Mishimoto, Whiteline Flat Out, Perrin Performance, GTSPEC, Pyrotecht, Eibach Springs & TEIN Suspension. |

| Though afternoon downpours threatened to extinguish the fun, we dug in our heels and kept it going well into the evening. An all-wheel drive dyno provided by all-wheel-dyno was the center of attention early on, logging a spectacular 574whp pull from Karl Fritz's 2G DSM. Later in the day, attendees were treated to what will hopefully become the beginning of a great summer tradition; the JSC Speed summer hot dog eating contest, which proved to be much more competitive that anyone could have anticipated. New Jersey's own Joel Podelsky edged out the competition by eating 10 dogs in 7 minutes with local favorite Rob Wilkinson (aka SubieSleeper) eating twelve dogs but suffering a disqualification with only seconds to go due to a coughing attack that was ruled to be a visible sign of sickness. In the Car Show main event, Bill Vitale's gorgeous Subaru STi took the JSC Speed Staff favorite trophy and the participant voted 'Best in Show' was awarded to an extremely clean 1998 Acura Integra owned by James Pearce. JSC Speed would like to thank everyone that came out to Saturday's festivities and made the event such a great success. We hope you had a great day and look forward to seeing you all next year! |
