| Philly Region SCCA Holbert Memorial
|
The Philadelphia region SCCA held this years Holbert Memorial AutoX at the Warminster Community Park. This was the largest event in the Philly region's history with more than 200 cars participating. The course was huge fast time of the day (FTD) was a 51 second run in a dedicated B-Mod car (kind of a small Le Mans prototype looking car that is really freaking quick). There were National Champion drivers there and some drivers from as far as Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland. Among the field were two cars sponsored by JSC Speed: Adam Fuhs in his 03 Evo and Justin Stone (me) in a 05 tC. Cars that ran included Vipers, Z06s, lots of Elises, Evos, and STis.

Adam had a good day finishing third out of 12 in class, Street Touring Ultra (STU). He felt like he could have finished better but he was overdriving just a little bit. Overall Adam finished 52nd of 206 which is pretty darn good considering the level of competition that was present at this event.

I finished a respectable (although disappointing) fourth of eight in H Stock (HS). I was having major traction problems as far as keeping the rear end planted--it just wanted to step out (oversteer) during trail braking and the fast slaloms were killing me. I did scrub three seconds off my first run time (which is always my goal) but I was .700 out of third and I was 92nd of the 206 running (so at least I was in the top half).
