The original exhaust insulating wrap was developed over 12 years ago by Thermo Tec. Insulating wrap is an innovative way to create more horsepower and reduce under-hood temperatures. Wrapping headers maintains hotter exhaust gases that exit the system faster through decreased density. Increased exhaust scavenging is produced, along with lower intake temperatures. Exhaust insulating wrap withstands continuous heat up to 2000°F, and contains no asbestos. Thermo Tec exhaust wrap will not over-insulate a system when properly installed due to a proprietary coating - Thermal Conduction Technology (TCT) - that conducts heat across the wrap's surface. This coating controls heat build-up and dissipation. Heat wrap is now available in a 30% more thermally efficient copper-impregnated design

The multi-purpose stainless steel Snap Straps are used to secure exhaust insulating wrap and more. The high-temperature stainless steel straps have a narrow profile to fit tight spots, and can be cut to the exact length needed. Snap Straps secure with easy-to-use slide-through fasteners.

To finish off a clean and well-protected exhaust insulating wrap application it is recommended to use the Hi-Heat Coating. The coating will protect the wrap from abrasion and harmful liquid spills. Extra resins and binders toughen the surface, extend the life of wrap by protecting it from friction, and seal the pores to minimize the penetration of harmful liquids. The coating also works excellent as a paint directly on metal surfaces.
