Cobb's straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor for precise readings. This eliminates the "dead spots" caused by intake turbulence.

In order to provide a WRX & STI intake system that looks as good as it functions, Cobb utilized a one-piece plastic high-temperature composite plastic body. The Cobb Tuning SF Air Box was designed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF intake through the factory intake snorkle. The aluminum heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge.
