Evolution 8 & 9 Tein Coilovers

Tein's Basic coilovers for the Evo 8 and 9 are an entry-level setup that feature ride-height adjustment but do not offer adjustable shock damping. Basics are valved for street use and are an affordable, balanced solution to purchasing shocks and springs or sleeve-type coilovers. Tein Basics feature a steel twin-tube design, with adjustable spring perches and utilize the OEM suspension mounts. Because the Tein Basic coilovers are a complete setup, they offer increased stroke over a stock-type setup or spring and shock package, which increases shock life and prevents the 'bottoming out' associated with traditional lowering springs. This kit is also completely rebuildable, making it a suitable long-term solution for most styles of performance street driving.

Tein Super Street (SS) Coilovers offer the same ride-height adjustability of the Basics but also feature 16-setting damping force adjustment for increased tuneability. Designed for street use, Tein SS coilovers can be stiffened or softened and raised or lowered to meet any of your day-to-day demands. SS coilovers are designed specifically for the US market, so fitment and quality is perfect every time. The Tein SS kit features twin-tube shocks, standardized straight springs, and steel construction for durability and quality. The kits can also be rebuilt and revalved by Tein, making them a complete long-term suspension solution. The SS coilovers utilize the OEM upper mounts for simple installation.

Flex coilovers are designed to provide the ultimate balance between comfort and performance. They are a completely different coilover from the Basic/SS line, utilizing a fully threaded shock body that is adjustable both at the spring perch and lower shock body for independent height and spring preload adjustments. The twin-tube damper design makes for improved reliability and longevity. These are Tein's street/competition coilovers; they can be tuned for street use but will also be comfortable on the racetrack or autocross course. Tein Flex coilovers include upper mounts and are also fully rebuildable, making them a complete long-term solution.

Mono Flex coilovers are designed for those looking for the best performance on the street and track. They are very similar to the Tein Flex coilovers featuring full ride height adjustment and 16 levels of damping. The major difference is the mono-tube internal damper design. This allows quick heat dissipation for consistent handling and a larger damping range as well. Tein Mono Flex coilovers include upper mounts, and are also fully rebuildable, making them a complete long-term solution for your high performance Evolution.

This optional product makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force by controlling a motor installed in the shock absorber while being seated in the driver's seat. Since the damping force can be manually controlled with ease to meet different situations, the driver can enjoy variations in the suspension setting.
