03-06 Evolution 8 & 9 Catpipes & Racepipes
The 03-06 Evolution 8 & 9 can see significant performance gains by removing the restrictive OEM catalytic converter. Replacing the OEM cat with a freer flowing high performance cat or deleting the cat altogether and using a racepipe (also called a test pipe or cat delete pipe) will allow your Evo's turbo to spool up faster and move more air, increasing horsepower. Most any catpipe or racepipe will bolt in place just as easily with a stock downpipe and exhaust as it will with a full turbo back system.

- Check you local laws regarding emissions regulations before deleting your OEM cat.
A direct bolt in for the Evolution 8 & 9, the Cobb test pipe is a replacement for the factory catalytic converter. Cobb's test pipe will work with the OEM exhaust as well as any exhaust that would keep the factory catalytic converter location. Made of 304 stainless steel with a 3" diameter, the test pipe is available with a high flow catpipe or catless racepipe.

The Invidia 03-06 Evolution 8 & 9 cat deletes are 3" tubular 304 stainless steel with thick flanges to prevent warping. The Invidia test pipes can be used with the stock downpipe and cat-back exhaust or with most aftermarket components. The 03-05 Evolution 8 test pipe has no bungs in it since the O2 sensor is located in the downpipe. The 06 Evolution 9 test pipe has an O2 bung to mimic the stock cat's location.

The Turbo XS Racepipe is designed for the 03-05 Evolution 8 only as it has no built in O2 bung. Though, if you wanted you could easily add a bung to this 304 stainless steel cat delete pipe and run it in your 06 Evolution 9. The Turbo XS racepipe will connect to any stock or aftermarket exhaust that connects to the stock location cat pipe.
