2001-2011 Duramax Turbo Diesel

The GM Duramax line of V8 turbo diesel powerplants represent the cutting edge in light trucks requiring heavy duty torque output. In the USA, the 6.6 liter (402 cubic inch) Duramax V8 is available on all Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra platforms, spanning from 2001 to the current model year. Thought the engine has not technically been redesigned since 2001, GM has made revisions to the Duramax every few years, varying torque output from 520ft/lbs (in 2001) to a whopping 650ft/lbs in the 2011 version of the Duramax. |
