OVERVIEW:A lightweight flywheel is a great addition to any car. The reduced rotating mass can get you into the higher RPM range faster; reducing turbo spool time and making for quicker ETs and general launches.
STEEL VS ALUMINUM: There are several different flywheel choices. Make sure not to chose one that is too light. You may want to consider the Fidanza for daily drivers and street cars, as it is lighter, but not too light, making for good pedal feel and smooth clutch engagement. |

The ACT Streetlite flywheel is made from premium quality forged Chrome-Moly steel, CNC machined, and balanced. It also features an induction-hardened integral ring gear, and is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1.

ACT Prolite Steel Flywheel: |
| The ACT Prolite flywheel is made using the same premium quality, forged Chrome-Moly steel unit, that is CNC machined, and balanced. The Prolite flywheel has more material removed from the outer rim than the Streetlite to get it down to it's super-light, CEL causing 13.2lbs. ACT's Prolite flyweel will cause a check engine light. If you are planning to drive your car on the street, in traffic, you do not want this light of a flywheel. The Prolite is a RACE ONLY flywheel. The Prolite also features an induction-hardened integral ring gear, and is durable and thick enough to be resurfaced. Certified to SFI Specification 1.1. |

| SPEC Lightweight Flywheels: SPEC flywheels are CNC machined and exceed SFI standards for high stress racing applications. These units are recommended for highly modified street or racing vehicles, and for mildly modified street cars that can benefit from reduced rotating mass without the loss of daily drivability. The body of Spec's aluminum flywheel is made of tempered aluminums, either 6061 T6 or 2024 T3, for ultimate strength and lightest possible weight. Spec Steel flywheels are constructed in high carbon billet steel. Most steel SPEC units are rebuildable and feature a replaceable steel friction plate that is made from a friction-enhancing steel metal specially formulated for optimum clutch bedding and holding power. The aluminum and steel materials provide a light and medium weight option for all types of racing. The 1/4 inch thick friction plate is a 1050 high carbon alloy, for incredible durability with any friction disc material, even iron. The friction plates are secured to the body flywheel with high intensity aerospace fasteners. Spec uses grade "10" fasteners to attach the ring gears to every flywheel they build, so you know you are purchasing a quality performance product. |
